This is a collection of photos I took in Dharavi, a shanty-town in Mumbai. The colour photographs attempt a documentary of the life and commercial activities going on in the slums. The monochrome images of the older posts (see the posts of Sarjan) focus on the Potters' colony of Dharavi.
These photos have been displayed at reputed galleries of Mumbai and Vadodara.
You can view these images at the following link as well, probably with more ease and definitely in higher resolution:
The copyrights for these photos are mine for every possible format. They must not be reproduced by anyone in anyway.
I am a photographer living in Mumbai, India.

“Usually the amateur is defined as the immature state of the artist: someone who cannot - or will not - achieve the mastery of a profession. But in the field of the photographic practice, it is the amateur, on the contrary, who is the assumption of a professional: for it is he who stands closer to the noeme (‘that has been’) of Photography.”
